Steve is a Hartford-based developer and lifelong community advocate. He has been building high performance homes since the early 2000s and was named Efficiency Vermont’s Partner of the Year in 2012.
Marcie Pleasants, Homeownership Advisor
When Marcie moved to Wilder in 2013, she became one of VERMOD’s first customers. 3 years later, she divides her time between assisting prospective VERMOD homebuyers, working in her garden, and spending time with her family and friends.
Jay Hickory, Plant Manager
A Bridgewater, VT native, Jay has worked in construction for over 40 years. He joined the VERMOD team in 2014. In his free time Jay loves to travel with his family.
The Factory Crew
VERMOD employs anywhere between 6 and 10 additional builders and tradespeople at a time, depending on the level of production. We take great pride in our work and participate in ongoing training about the latest energy-efficient building techniques and technologies.
Gene “Caveman” Blanchard, Foreman
A Windsor, VT native, Gene has been with VERMOD since the company’s inception in 2013. He has been working on energy efficient homes with Steve Davis since the 1990’s. He is our factory foreman and a member of the Quality Control team. Outside of work Gene is an active member of the American Legion, VFW, and Elks clubs where he organizes charity work and fundraising.
Ashley Andreas, Office Administrator
Ashley moved to the Upper Valley from Pennsylvania in 2012. She holds an Associates of Business and will graduate with an Associates of STEM Studies this year. Ashley started at VERMOD with an internship in September 2016, and became a full-time employee in January 2017. In addition to office administration, Ashley also serves as a Homeownership Adviser and our Safety Coordinator. Outside of work she is a mother of one, a member of the Hartford Energy Commission and a community activist.

Efficiency Vermont runs the state’s Mobile Home Replacement Program and supports VERMOD with technical assistance.
